The City Of Horseshoe Bay, TX

Located in Llano and Burnet counties, Horseshoe Bay is on the southern edge of Lake Lyndon B. Johnson and the Colorado River. Located just 51 miles northwest of Austin, Horseshoe Bay is a young city, incorporated in 2005. The city covers an area of over 11 square miles.

Population and Amenities

Over 5,300 people reside in the close-knit and friendly community of Horseshoe Bay. The beautiful Horseshoe Creek Hiking Trail offers residents an opportunity to explore nature through the 2.5 mile trail through the wooded and rocky terrain. The trail opened in December of 2016 on 50 acres of donated land designated as a park and hiking trail along the winding creek. Water sports, boating, and drag-boat racing are all popular activities enjoyed by members of the community.

Schools

Horseshoe Bay students attend school in the neighboring districts. Elementary students attend Highland Lakes Elementary, while middle grade students attend Marble Falls Middle School, with both of these schools receiving a Great Schools score of 4. High school students attend the nearby Llano High School, which has received a Great Schools score of 5.
